The
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and European Directives impose
statutory duties on employers and employees.
The
Company:
PMR will seek
to safeguard the health safety and welfare of all staff and visitors.
The Company
will ensure that responsibilities for health and safety are properly
assigned, accepted and fulfilled at all levels within the Company.
The Company
will ensure insofar as it can that all staff and visitors are aware
of potential hazards, safe working practices, and arrangements for
emergencies such as fire, flood and first aid.
The Managing
Director and all members of the management team together with departmental
and functional heads are committed to the implementation of this
Policy.
The Company,
so far as is reasonably practicable, will provide and maintain a
safe and healthy working environment for all employees and make
adequate provision with regard to the facilities and arrangements
for their welfare at work. PMR also provides training for employees,
as appropriate, to ensure their health and safety at work. This
will include instruction on the correct use of equipment and substances
at work and detail the conditions and precautions necessary to ensure
that, when properly used, they will be safe and without risk to
health.
Employees:
Employees also
have a specific responsibility to exercise reasonable care for the
health and safety of themselves and for any other persons who may
be affected by their actions.
Employees should
fully co-operate in all matters relating to health and safety, report
all accidents and not interfere with or misuse anything that is
provided for their general welfare at work.
The Health and
Safety Policy will be communicated to all staff and is kept under
continuous review, and as and when necessary all employees will
be advised of any such changes that are made.
